World
Water Day is an annual UN observance day (always on 22 March) that highlights the
importance of freshwater. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable
management of freshwater resources. To promote the spirit of water conservation
and to encourage research in waste water remediation, the IIChE Students
Chapter organized technical events for the students of all branches of our
college on 22nd March 2019.
- Water Filter Design: A simple filter of easily available materials such as gravel, sand, charcoal etc. is to be made to filter a very dirty sample of water. The judging criteria was based on the quantity and quality of the filtrate within a given time period.
- Online poster competition: Reusability of wastewater is a major thrust area of water research. The participants designed and uploaded posters online on the recent advances in water reuse and recycle.
