Yet another proud moment for the Chemical Engineering department as we congratulate our team of five students Alnufaiz Rafeek, Anshad M Nassar, Benet Martin, Gayathri G Nair and Jayalakshmi S lead by Mr. Surej Rajan C for bagging ANERT (Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology) research funding worth 68465 INR under SRI 22-23. The project is titled "Fabrication and Performance Analysis of Prototype of a Wind Turbine of 100 W Capacity Using the Optimally Designed Blades Made from Waste Plastics Coupled with DC Generator". It is one of the remarkable projects initiated under CFREI(Centre for Fire Research and Energy Innovation). CFREI is a faculty led startup, focusing on fire research and energy innovation lead by Mr. Surej Rajan C, Asst.Professor at CHE, constituting other members from dept of chemical engineering.Through this project they aim to revolutionise the fastest growing sustainable energy - wind energy, by innovating a bilateral solution of utilising plastic waste as potential material resource for harvesting wind energy.
